I wanted to give this place a 5. It’s really a 3.5 but I rounded up to a 4. The location and atmosphere is great. The staff wasn’t the friendliest and the coffee was just ok. I had an orange cranberry scone which looked amazing in the pastry case. But in reality, it was a bit on the dry side and the bottom was slightly burned. And the seating... Sure they have the study rooms which are pretty cool but the majority of the seating are long tables with seats for 6+ people. Normally a coffee shop struggles finding a place for a group to sit. The opposite is true here. I went in by myself for a little quiet time, just me and my coffee. But the only seating options where long tables with people already seated at the other end. The few 2 and 4 person tables were all taken by other customers who just wanted to enjoy their coffee to themselves.
This place is beautiful. The atmosphere is amazingly rustic. It's the perfect college kid place but if you look at it as just a place for coffee then it's only 3 stars. The staff is obviously college goers but they are very standoffish and unenthusiastic. The coffee has far too much caffeine and sugar as I can't even drink it because it messes with my heart and I'm a healthy 19 year old. The prices are a tad high but not bad. Food is great with fresh and innovative ingredients. They display baked goods which is a pleasant view.
My favorite thing to do when visiting a new place is to explore coffee shops, so I've been to lots all over. This one is so unique! I loved the feel and atmosphere. If this place was back in my hometown, you'd see me hanging out here all of the time.
Great for singles or groups. Food and coffee is also great. There is an upstairs area which is perfectly positioned for professional meetings. Very secure and able to close the doors. Parking is a bit of an issue depending on when you go but keep looking and you will find something. They also often have good live music and events for locals. These events are usually very good.
We used the upstairs room for a spouse social. It was a perfect space for the amount of people we had. I would not suggest reserving it if you plan on having more than 10-12 people. Coffee was great! The only reason I deducted a star is because the upstairs is not handicap accessible.
