Country's On Broad is delicious! ! ! !
Im not the biggest fan of barbecue so this place is a miss. They won't toss the chicken fingers in hot sauce and do not have very good sauce for that matter. They think a slice of tomato, a SINGLE slice of tomato mind you, counts as a side dish. Speaking of side dishes, their fries are a crime against nature. This location does win in terms of aesthetic, decor, and cleanliness compared to country's other two locations in town. with its interesting bus attraction, and its a fun place to eat on the fourth of July, it being next to a bridge from which you can see fireworks. Don't go to the other two locations, the food is the same. Don't go for the food unless you like barbecue and bad fries. Go for the experience and the charm.
We had a wonderful afternoon in downtown Columbus yesterday and wanted to end it with an early dinner at Country's Barbecue downtown. We were seated on the bus which was very unique, and my grandson loved the ambience of the old bus. Our waitress was awesome tending to our needs , and the food was delicious. My grandson ate every morsel of his barbecue sandwich. Since we were the only ones on the bus eating we took the liberty to have some family time. Enjoying each other and enjoying my grandson. He wondered to the front of the bus and was pretending to drive the bus, being autistic he doesn't normally do things that average children do. And since autism has his words held hostage for now, every sound that he makes is a hope that it turns into a word. His sounds are his means of communication. Since the echo in the bus generates a stem for him that creates the need for him to make more sounds than usual and we were the only ones in the bus area we were embracing his ability to express himself in a safe environment. However, one customer felt the need to inner the bus and scream at me and his father to make him shut up. This of course angered me , since I felt he was intolerant to those who are different. What he requested, would be like requesting someone in a wheelchair with no legs to grow their legs back because it's unsightly to him for someone not to have any legs. People with disabilities come in all shapes and sizes and appearances. I did not know that in 2017 we would still have to deal with individuals that have intolerance to those who are different. History has taught us that people who feel intolerant to those that are different have led them to want to exterminate such individuals. Whoever the customer was I feel like he had such hate in his heart for anyone different than himself. He must be lonely and sad and shallow inside to show such hatred towards the most beautiful boy in the world to me that has taught us all that love is unconditional. If that man had said nothing to us and as we left, my grandson would have most likely gone up to him and gave him a hug for no reason at all. When we go out in public, we must understand that we will be exposed to the public. If you don't want to deal with such diversities then you most likely need to stay home. Love does trump hate and since Country's Barbecue had nothing to do with the incident and their food being delicious and service was excellent, this probably will not stop me from going back.
Drive -Thru 2 Go order on Labor Day
Interesting place, you can sit in a bus and eat if you want. It was the old bus station. Plenty of regular seats or a counter. Good food. Barbeque is good but not great
Not bad. Brisket had a lighter fluid/charcoal briquette taste. The sides were really good. They need to update the inside. I realize they want to keep the authenticity of the old bus stop, but clean it. Food was not bad though.
Must return again for dine in @ another time.
