Love this place!!!! Loved our waitress, great sense of humor. For was great as always. I eat her every time I come to Columbus.
When a restaurant advertises itself as southern comfort food and features Collards, you can rest assured they are seasoned and meaty. The Pineapple Casserole was described as cheesy and a pleasant surprise.
So the fried green tomatoes and goat cheese stack was to die for! 5 stars for that appetizer.
This place is amazingly great. All four of us were satisfied with our entree. I am going for a four for now. I will definitely come back again and recommend to others as well. Check out the pineapple casserole, it's great
Mr. Malone would be proud
The "Udderly delicious" Meatloaf is expressly that and flavored with bits of pepper and onions. My Bourbon Street pork loins were tangy yet uneventful in comparison.
Well, I wrote this review too soon. I ordered a grouper PoBoy and it's the first time I've had anything at a Mark Jones restaurant that was a disappointment. The fish was the thinnest piece of grouper you can imagine with a thick batter ... You couldn't taste the fish at all because there wasn't enough of it. It came with fries which were nothing but frozen crinkle cut potatoes. I certainly expected more from this restaurant and I was embarrassed because I had raved about it to my husband.
After recommendations from relatives and a perusal of reviews, we stopped by Uptown for a late supper on the eve of the Iron Bowl. No wait & plenty of other games on the overhead TVs.
Great restaurant! Having lunch here with my husband and brother. Another win for Mark Jones!!
Our waitress Julie was charming, petite, and shared her favorite suggestions along with some Mark Jones magic, the Fried Green Tomatoes and Goat Cheese Tower. Its signature display is rivaled only by its roumalade. Lobster Tots and Sliders were also enjoyed.
Will probably go back again just for the fried green tomatoes and goat cheese to be honest.
Unfortunately the rest of the meal was down hill from there. Dry chicken and bland collard greens seemed under cooked and fries tasted like the oil the were fried in was old.
